Gingerbread Cookies

Traditional gingerbread cookies, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 100g butter
  • 1 medium egg (plus 1 yolk for brushing)
  • Approx. 3 tablespoons warm milk

Instructions

  1. Mix all the ingredients to form a smooth dough.
  2. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to a thickness of about 5mm.
  3. Cut out shapes with cookie cutters.
  4. Brush with the egg yolk and bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 minutes until golden brown.
