
Orange Cake
A moist and flavorful orange cake topped with a sweet white chocolate icing and coconut flakes.
Ingredients
Cake Ingredients
- 250g butter
- 200g powdered sugar
- 4 eggs
- 1 orange
- 250g flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
Icing Ingredients
- 50g powdered sugar
- 100g white chocolate
- 3 tablespoons coconut flakes
Instructions
- Juice the orange and set aside for later. Grate the orange zest and mix with the flour and baking powder.
- Beat the butter with a mixer until smooth, gradually adding powdered sugar, and continue to beat until fluffy (about 7 minutes).
- Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually add the flour mixture, alternating with orange juice, until well combined.
- Pour the batter into a greased and floured cake pan. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for about 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool before icing.
- For the icing, heat 50ml of orange juice in a small saucepan, add the powdered sugar, and remove from the heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
- Add the white chocolate, broken into pieces, and stir until melted and smooth. Spread the icing over the cooled cake and sprinkle with coconut flakes.
